Restoring a Local Treasure

Preserving Our Historic Home: A Message to Our Supporters

The Women’s Club of Vero Beach is proud to announce our collaboration with the distinguished teams at Proctor Construction, Schlitt Engineering, and Moor, Baker & Associates, Architects, led by Architects Chris Baker and Amy Van de Reit.  These experts are conducting a comprehensive assessment of our beloved clubhouse to ensure that our historic building is preserved with the care and craftsmanship it deserves. Their work marks the beginning of a restoration effort that honors more than a century of service, community, and tradition.

As we embark on this important project, we are committed to restoring our historic home so it may continue to serve future generations of women, families, and community partners. This building has been a gathering place, a source of strength, and a symbol of civic leadership for decades. Now, we have the opportunity—and responsibility—to safeguard it for the next hundred years.

We invite you to join us in this meaningful endeavor. Your generosity plays a vital role in preserving our heritage. Whether large or small, every contribution helps ensure that our clubhouse remains a vibrant center for education, philanthropy, and community engagement.

If you would like to discuss how you can support the restoration or have any questions, please contact us at verobeachwc@att.net or reach out to Gail or Scott Alexander at 239‑287‑5554.

Thank you for your continued interest in and dedication to the Women’s Club of Vero Beach. Together, we can honor our past and secure our future.

Our Exciting Plans

The Women’s Club of Vero Beach hopes to complete a two‑phase restoration of our historic clubhouse, contingent on available funding to ensure long‑term safety, functionality, and community use. Phase I focuses on essential structural and safety upgrades, including installation of structural tie‑downs, replacement of the aging roof, modernization of the HVAC system, and a full electrical overhaul. Phase II will address interior improvements such as refinishing original flooring, restoring historic windows, updating the kitchen and bathrooms, enhancing outdoor spaces, refreshing interior and exterior finishes, and ensuring ADA accessibility. Together, these improvements will preserve a significant community landmark while expanding its capacity to serve women, families, and local organizations for decades to come.

Now Here Is Where You Come In!

Without significant support, this historic building could be lost within our lifetime — along with the chance to honor the generations of women who helped shape Vero Beach. Preserving it means revitalizing a special space that has long brought our community together. We hope you will consider investing in its future so it can continue to serve, inspire, and support our community for generations to come.
